I watch the news but I zone out and think of SHC instead, but I managed to catch something about 'NZ same-sex marriage rights approved' or something :) so yeah

Only problem is, some people at my school don't appreciate yaoi :(

It varies in the US. I'm not too sure about my state as a whole, but my particular area isn't the most gay-friendly... Most of the younger people are neutral or supportive, though the groups I happen to be in are all religious and tend to be negative towards the issue. Parents and adults especially aren't too open, most of them simply being uncomfortable with the idea and therefore lash out against it.

It makes it rant hard to come out, because different people react so differently...

Not really sure. But discrimination itself needs to go away.

You cant marry someone of your own gender here in Venezuela. There`s not hating on being homosexual or something. Basically being gay is some kind of joke (?) Its accepted with nothing more than a few laughs and jokes

In my surroundings it is largely accepted, there are just a few individuals that don't but still have the ability to respect you as a person on its own besides your sexualty. At my school people have quite some interest in homosexuality, so I get a lot of questions about it and even my relationships, but I'm glad to inform them ;)

I'm not entirely sure for my country actually. While gays here have full rights like straight people since late 2000's, there's still hate. But I've surrounded myself with people who are either gay, lesbian, bisexual, asexual and supporters, so as far as I'm aware, it's good. But I do know of one person who is actually afraid of them (which I find bullshit. They're not going to 'spread the gay' by talking to you. Sheesh....)
Honestly, I find every single anti-gay argument a fucking waste of time and energy. Every single argument they have can be fought against in a nano-second. You don't have to like people of different sexuality but you should accept the fact that people are different and there's nothing you can do about it.

For me it really depends. Personally, I have no qualms against people who choose to live that way. But some of the people around me are entirely judgmental and often homophobic, which I think is entirely unfair. They have as much right as anyone else to love the way they do. I don't think anyone should be condemned for that kind of lifestyle. But on the flip side there are many people who are supportive and very kind towards others who are homosexual. So it's really half and half.

Where I come from, homosexuals are truly hated! Which sucks. My class and I were talking about it a few days ago and they said that homosexuals are horrible and they should die. I truly don't know why they said that, because my best friends and I completely support them, even though we're rather young.

And a few weeks ago I heard that a gay couple got arrested for being caught holding hands or kissing, I think, and the police - err something like that - threatened to kill them and I just can't stand this anymore! >:[

Basically in my country there are more homophobes/anti-gays than the supporters and I feel ashamed of my country honestly. o.e

Homosexual marriages are being legalized in several states, but there's sort of a crisis. There are the anti-gays and the pro-gays, and while the homosexual population is clamoring for rights, the anti-gays and even some straight people are feeling criticized and outright hated by homosexuals and pro-gays. It's become less about sexuality and more about who can get the other side to break first. The "we just want to be left alone to love how we want" attitude is quickly being replaced with "you bite, we bite back".

Here it's also minimum, I'd say. I mean... Homosexuals cannot get married in a church here nor adopt a child (Which is something I can't understand... ._.) But after all they have the same rights as everyone else and there are only those few idiots that discriminate homosexuals. Funny how the things here are that well, when I think about how the stuff's going on in Russia...
